[Naturally, Dimitri doesn't budge an inch. At best, Felix will just be pushing himself away from Dimitri rather than making Dimitri move. It's comical, really, and just what he needed to calm the heat that had started flickering to life inside him.]
Is there a problem? It sounded as if you were enjoying yourself.
[Yet that blush that still paints his features determinedly undermines that protest. As with the way his body laments the loss of heat now that he's distanced himself slightly from Dimitri on the bed. It's the same part of him that keeps himself rooted to this spot, unwilling to let that heat slip away anymore than it already has.]
[Though he's still a little bit excited to be standing up, Dimitri climbs out of bed anyway, counting on Felix to keep being too embarrassed over being called out to look his way. The underwear he was given upon arrival highlight the crotch anyway, right now it probably looks like he's totally hard...
Which is why he'll quickly make his way into the closet to pull on some plain loungewear before wandering out of the bedroom to pick up Felix's clothing and palm reader.
He'll leave the sword where it is. No need to give Felix something to swing at him in his own damn bedroom.]
[Fortunately for Dimitri, Felix does not spare a glance in his direction, busy stewing in his thoughts as he waits for the heat in his face to ebb away. By the time Dimitri returns with his clothing and the palm reader he never thought to check, he has sat up on the bed. Not bothering to straighten up the crooked way Dimitri's shirt hangs off him, he peeks at Dimitri and his meager belongings, frowning when he notices something missing in the selection.]
[Dimitri's gaze briefly drifts to Felix's halfway bared shoulder before settling on his face. With a scoff, he tosses him the palm reader and then the clothing.]
In the entryway. You can sleep in my bed if you want to, and I will gladly spar with you if you like, but not in my bedroom.
[He nods down to the palm reader.]
That thing has a tutorial mode.
[Of course, Dimitri could just teach Felix himself, but Felix is the sort that learns by doing. May as well not even offer.]
[The way Dimitri speaks to him makes Felix want to scratch something, annoyed more than he'd like to admit at the fact there isn't much he could do about that fact. He eyes the palm reader suspiciously--almost as if it might bite--but eventually he crawls cautiously towards it then picks it up. Resisting the urge to sniff at it (where did that even come from?), he presses a random button and startles when the welcome screen pops up, nearly dropping it when it starts speaking.]
["Hello, and welcome to Amoi, citizen! We know you must be terribly confused right now. Take a nice, slow breath and find somewhere quiet to settle down. When you're ready, say 'continue' or touch the green button that says 'continue' on your screen."]
...hmm. You did not even have a chance to turn it on...?
[Not surprising, he supposes. Felix is easy on the eyes and not at all shy when it comes to telling people off, he probably got picked up on the first day.]
I will get breakfast while you listen to it. Is there anything you would like?
[Felix shoots Dimitri a dirty look before picking it up again, this time concentrating on the screen instead of the flush spreading across his cheeks again. There never was a chance, considering the unsavory men he encountered pretty much off the bat.
For a moment, Felix considers being petulant, but not knowing where to get food in the first place, he decides to swallow his pride.]
...Meat, [he says without looking up at Dimitri as he presses that continue button.]
[Ah, Felix truly never changes. "Meat", so helpful. Dimitri rolls his eyes and heads out of the room, lingering in the kitchen long enough for the palm reader to finish its basic explanation and give him a list of questions to ask if he wants more detailed information. Best to let him absorb it on his own. It gives Dimitri time to ponder over what he should order them for breakfast... has Felix's sense of taste changed? Will spicy foods be too spicy for him now that he's some sort of cat hybrid? In the end, he opts to get two separate breakfasts, one spiced the way Felix usually likes it and one plain. He'll carry both back into the bedroom on a tray with two glasses of water.]
...I do not know if your sense of taste has been affected, so I ordered one with spices and one without. I can eat either one — I can no longer taste, as you seem to have guessed.
[Everything the palm reader explained to him would have been useful to know the moment he set foot here, but it's too late for regrets now. Instead of taking the time to ask further questions, Felix sighs and lies back in an attempt to relax. Curling into the sheets, he basks in the leftover warmth for what minute comfort he could get, trying not to think about what could have been if he had the time to learn all these things.
When Dimitri returns, he cants his head towards him, ears perking up slightly at the smell of something decidedly meaty.]
Don't really know considering they just fed me the same thing everyday.
[The spices do get his attention, though his expression grows pensive at the confirmation that Dimitri, indeed, could no longer taste. But he does not comment on it and simply makes a grab for the spiced dish. He's about to start on it before he pauses in memory of something drilled into him thanks to training--which is to peek at Dimitri to see that he's eating before starting on his own.]
[Felix has only the smallest of reactions to that bit of news. It really does baffle Dimitri how he could have possibly known, but having Felix gripe at him to stop eating his meals like he hated them did make him wonder. Even Dedue doesn't know...]
...is something the matter?
[Dimitri, of course, is not eating yet. He's waiting to see which plate Felix prefers, because it literally doesn't matter to him.]
[Once he sees that Felix doesn't have any objections, Dimitri settles down on the bed as well and picks at his own meal. It's always somewhat difficult to eat, even when he tells himself he's getting stronger so that he can be in fighting shape as soon as he gets home... but it's a little easier having someone here with him. Once he's about halfway through his meal, he speaks up.]
I did not entirely believe that they would be able to send me back to the correct time, but seeing you now... well, clearly time does not have the same meaning to them.
[Dimitri glances at Felix for a moment before continuing:]
I will show you where I have been training once your meal has settled. We cannot afford to grow soft here. There is a war waiting, after all, even if you have not yet experienced it yourself.
[It seems like the chicken from yesterday wasn't enough to sate him, and Felix is embarrassingly quick when he finishes his meal, wrapping up when Dimitri looks his way.]
I don't need a war to motivate myself.
[He casts his gaze downwards, exhaling as he looks to his hands. Too soft, he'll have to make up for this month's lost time.]
[Felix looking at his hands (perfectly manicured, courtesy of his handlers) does have Dimitri pausing to properly evaluate him, though. He's really... soft. Did they shave his legs? Goddess, he needs to work off some of this tension before actually sparring with Felix.]
...perhaps I will let you train on your own for a little while. You would not make for a proper opponent as you are.
[There. Now Felix will be angry and grabbing his thighs won't be so appealing.]
[Balling his hands into fists, Felix pushes himself to his knees, glowering at Dimitri from this minute height advantage, never mind how it exposes his unclothed lower half.]
I'll catch up to you in no time.
[Big words, but he's determined to make good on them, even if the time he lost thanks to his captivity requires him to double time on this. Not to mention Dimitri's own experiences.]
[That shirt rides up, and as close as Felix is, there's no way he'll miss the way Dimitri's gaze drops. But he's quick to lift it again with a crooked smirk, pushing himself up into the same position.]
In battle prowess, perhaps.
[In height and musculature? Bad news Felix: you're never catching up.]
[Felix gets the implications of Dimitri's statement just fine. Coupled with the way Dimitri sizes him up, he's plenty red in the face when he stands up and hops off the bed, lithely landing on all fours.]
You'll regret underestimating me.
[As he rises to two legs once more, he stalks out of the room. He only remembers his clothing when he's close to out of the door, hurriedly running back to grab them before finishing his exit, pissed at himself for how ridiculous everything looks.]
[Dimitri slips off the bed to saunter after him, grabbing the tray while he's at it.]
Here. The VR room is this way, it will allow you to fight virtual opponents. Once you have fought enough, it will even let you face yourself so that you can better pick out your weaknesses. I imagine it would let you face me as well.
[As much as Felix wants to bite back that he doesn't need Dimitri's help, he really has no idea where to go, so he swallows his pride for the moment and goes to the direction Dimitri points to.]
That's... convenient.
[He tries to keep the enthusiasm off his tone, but it really sounds handy and he can't help but be interested in the prospect.]
It is. I would surely be in jail by now without it.
[Because if he was just sitting around getting weaker, he wouldn't be able to take it! The cries of the dead are only quieted if he's giving it his all, and he would have to seek out real opponents if he couldn't fight virtual ones.
Dimitri leads Felix into the VR room and picks up a small metal headband, motioning for him to come close.]
[Just how much has Dimitri changed? Sighing, Felix shakes his head before inching a little closer, though stops short when Dimitri presents the metal headband. He hesitates visibly before stepping closer, reasoning to himself that it probably isn't anything dangerous considering it's in Dimitri's room. Even if it looks similar to some of the tools his handlers used on him.
[Though Dimitri's mannerisms now leave much to be desired when compared to the sweet boy he once was, his touch is still gentle as he parts Felix's hair, carefully affixing the headband behind his ears. He lingers for just a moment before drawing back, moving to the VR console to start it up.
And just like that, it's like they're back in the training yard of the Fraldarius estate. It's a setting that Dimitri finds comforting, though he'll never admit to Felix that it's an image that was built from his own memories and not Felix's.]
There. Just speak with this console here and it will walk you through everything. I will leave so that you can get changed.

You're imagining things.

[Red cheeks make all that fussing ineffective. Dimitri stares right at Felix for a few seconds before rolling over to pick up his palm reader.]
Ah, your things are here. Thank the goddess — my clothes are far too big for you.

[Welcome news as it is. Felix lazily flops on his back, finding some strange comfort in that as he stares at the ceiling.]
Just my academy uniform and my sword.
